You say you’d never guess the tiny town of Manson (population 1,690) in northwest Iowa would contain a shop filled with smartly chosen, mid-century modern home furnishings? How presumptuous of you. Mainly Retro owner Christy Ramthun opened her bricks-and-mortar store in 2010 and her online shop the following year. Keep checking her site because she posts new pieces regularly. As of this writing, she’s listed for sale a set of four floral-print linen napkins from the swinging ’60s signed “Oleg Cassini” ($20), and a smashing group of barrel-back armchairs upholstered in glowing orange ($1,120). Between those price extremes, she offers a set of 14 highball glasses ($84), captioned “as seen on ‘Mad Men.’ ” Telephone to get store hours and learn about Ramthun’s special wine-tasting events.
