Did you catch the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday? The big song-and-dance number from “Chicago” didn’t have ALL that jazz — because some of it’s spilling over to Iowa City.
This year, the annual Iowa City Jazz Festival will feature America’s most famous homegrown artform over the Independence Day weekend, July 3-5. A talented lineup of national and international musicians will take turns on two outdoor stages, alongside a mix of artist booths, food vendors, a jazz brunch and fireworks over the Old Capitol. If jazz had been around in the 1770s, all those fifers and drummers might have sounded a lot different.
