There’ll be dancing in the streets of Marion on Thursday nights this month. This year’s Uptown Getdown weekly concert series kicked off on Aug. 1 and continues at 6 p.m. today with Well Strung, a local band that plays high-energy rock, pop and hip-hop.

To avoid construction, this year’s party is relocated to Seventh Avenue between 10th and 12 streets. The new location will have the food vendors and family-friendly fun of years past, and guests can maximize the summer vibes with chairs and coolers.

Next Thursday, Aug. 15, catch Wylde Nept, before CJ Ryder & the Past Masters conclude the series on Aug. 22.
