Not sure what to do next weekend? The Alternating Currents festival in the Quad Cities may be your answer. More than 30 venues host more than 200 performances and events, including comedy, music, film and art exhibitions. The bonus: It’s all free.

Starting Aug. 15, you can see a belly-dancing dinner show, catch a documentary about a local TV legend, join a drum circle at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, or take a sound bath at the Figge Art Museum. There’s something for everyone.

Along the way, check out shows from the region’s best musicians, artist talks from local creators and all the food, shopping and drinks QC has to offer.
