Big (and small) surprises in Ames

Reiman Gardens’ new theme for 2026, “Big and Small,” encourages visitors to notice both the monumental and the minute. The gardens will offer larger-than-life experiences and tiny details waiting to be discovered.

Throughout the year, guests can explore the contrasts in the natural world. From the towering trees to tiny pollinators, the theme will be woven into seasonal events, educational programs, exhibits and signature festivals that celebrate both the grand and the miniature.

The first festival this year is the Orchid Fest Feb. 7-8.
